My first Blog !!!

Christmas is a time of traditions, and one such tradition for me, in the days following the hard work, stress and strain of Christmas & Boxing Days, is to reacquaint myself with Dreamweaver & my long neglected websites.  This year I thought I’d be daring and different – hence my brand new Blog About Nothing.  No idea what I’m doing, but as Spock, or was it Kirk, said in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan – “We learn by doing” !!!

Bjo Trimble said at a writers workshop I attended several decades ago, that one is a writer once that first rejection slip arrives in the mail.  So I guess that makes me a writer !!!  She also said to write at least 500 words a day, even if  just for the practice.  The weather today is far too hot and humid for me to be tending my tomato plants, so I’m following Bjo’s wise words and am practicing.

I think I’ve achieved my goal – I’ve written about nothing, or at least nothing much.  Nowhere near 500 words though.  Still, when starting a new exercise program it’s always best to start slowly – especially after a 20 year break.  The real challenge will be in finding the self-discipline to keep coming back here, and not letting my blog become as neglected as my websites.  The other challenge is to remember how to spell.  Thank goodness for the squiggly red line that appears under misspelled words !!!
